SURFACE TREATMENT
High-quality finished coatings
COATING MATTERS!
Correctly selected surface treatment for a thin metal product is an important part of finishing the product's surface. The purpose of the surface treatment is to protect the surface of the product, e.g. from corrosion and dirt, increase the aesthetics of the product, extend the service life of the product with coatings and bring more functional properties to the product.
Surface treatment can change surface properties such as gloss, hardness, color, strength, friction properties, wear resistance, water absorption, electrical properties, chemical resistance and corrosion resistance. The surface treatment is selected according to the material of the product and the loads and usage requirements of the object.
Through Brione, it is possible to get all the surface treatments needed on the market for thin metal parts, taking into account the requirements of the products.
PAINTING AS COATING
Through painting, the products get a spectacular and finished coating, which at the same time brings both corrosion protection and visual appeal to the product.
Powder painting / heat or combustion painting, is the most common and cost-effective way to paint serial industrial products on the line - the surface is excellently resistant to mechanical and chemical wear. The most common surface options are semi-glossy, glossy, matte and structured surface finishing. Special coatings and features are also widely available, e.g. effect surfaces and antibacterial painting.
Wet painting is a good solution as a coating method when the material of the product or one of its parts does not allow the use of other types of paint. The choice of the wet painting method can be influenced by various factors such as the heat resistance of the product, the size or weight class of the product - e.g. the product does not fit on the powder coating line.
The ceramic coating is a thin coating that repels dirt, which gives the products extreme hardness and heat resistance, chemical and mechanical stress resistance. An excellent choice for products that require superior surface durability. Widely used e.g. in the vehicle industry, weapons, sports equipment and bathrooms. Ask more!
Seri/silk and pad printing is a durable marking method for metal products as well. Texts, logos and marking numbers can be printed on almost all materials.
Varnishing is a protective layer applied over the painting, which gives the surface more durability.
HOT DIP GALVANIZED
Hot-dip galvanizing as a steel coating gives the surface excellent corrosion protection. It is still the most common coating method for steel used in the construction industry.
In the process, the galvanizing product is immersed in molten zinc at 450 °C after preliminary treatments, whereupon the zinc and steel react with each other and form a strong coating of approx. 60 – 150 mm, depending on the silicon content of the steel alloy. As a coating, hot-dip galvanizing is an economical solution for products that are exposed to the open air and require a long corrosion resistance. The hot-dip galvanized steel coating lasts for decades without maintenance.
ELECTROLYTIC COATINGS
Through us, it is possible to get all the electrolytic coatings offered by the market on sheet metal parts.
Coatings are often used to add additional properties to products such as appearance, surface hardness, good electrical conductivity, corrosion protection or insulation.
The most common coatings used are:
-
Electrogalvanizing + passivation (blue, yellow, black)
-
Aluminum anodizing (e.g. natural and black)
-
Passivation of aluminum
-
Bright anodizing of aluminum
-
Chrome plating
-
Chemical nickel / nickel plating
-
Gilding / silver plating / tinning / copper plating
-
Electrolytic polishing
MECHANICAL SURFACE TREATMENTS
The surface of the steel in a sheet metal product can be treated in many ways. Mechanical treatments of steel surfaces are possible through us, e.g. lissmac grinding, vibration grinding and steel pickling are part of finishing the product's surfaces. Shot blasting and sandblasting of the surfaces ensures a good adhesion base for the parts, e.g. under the painting.
